Walsall Golf Club Local Rules

Players are expected to abide by the Local Rules of Walsall Golf Club at all times.

1.    OUT OF BOUNDS

  • A ball played into or over a boundary ditch or over a boundary fence or hedge is out of bounds.
  • Boundary ditches are those on the left hand side of the 1st and 3rd holes.
  • A ball in or beyond the gutter surrounding the putting green on the clubhouse side of the white posts is Out of bounds.
  • The car park is out of bounds.

2.    WATER HAZARDS

  • The brook is a water hazard. The boundary ditches at the 1st and 3rd holes are NOT water hazards (See 1 above).

3.    IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS

  • Staked trees are immovable obstructions.
  • All bridges and man-made paths are to be regarded as immovable obstructions.
  • Fixed sprinkler heads are immovable obstructions.
  • Relief from immovable obstructions may be obtained under Rule 24.2. For fixed sprinkler heads the procedure in specimen Local Rule App. 1 B6 should be adopted.

4.    MOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS

  • Stones in bunkers are movable obstructions. Rule 24.1 applies.

5.    GENERAL

  • A ball lying in the flower beds on the back of the 9th and 18th greens must be dropped. Rule 25.1b applies.
  • All Rules of Golf refer to the 31st Edition 2008 .
