The Walsall Golf Club has a thriving Ladies Section. We meet on Tuesday
mornings to play our competitions — medals, trophies, national qualifiers,
stablefords, fourballs and fun competitions. During winter months,
competitions are usually played over 12 holes. Ladies who work may play
medal competitions on the previous Sunday.
In addition, a group of Ladies meet on Friday mornings for coffee and make a
draw for partners.
Mixed friendly competitions are arranged throughout the year. These are
played on Sunday afternoons and are followed by a dinner. These occasions
are well supported and extremely enjoyable.
The Spring and Autumn Rosebowls are popular mixed competitions played on
Saturday afternoon, followed by a presentation dinner.
Competitions are arranged with the Senior Men’s section and the Juniors.
We play friendly competitions against other clubs, both Ladies and Mixed.
The friendly rapport after these matches makes golf both a competitive and
social occasion.
The Lady Captain and President’s Day is the highlight of the year. A
pleasant days golf may include chipping, putting, nearest the pin and other
prizes. The presentation dinner is a lively evening of fun and friendly
banter.
We all look forward to the Ladies day out when we travel by coach to a golf
course chosen by the Lady Captain. Enjoy a game of golf, eat, drink and be
merry are the orders of the day. Winning a prize is an added bonus. 2006
will be a mystery day out.
The Ladies Dinner in November ends our golfing year. Medals, trophies and
other prizes are presented to the lucky winners.
Are you tempted by this busy golfing and social calendar? Please contact the
Club for further details. There will always be a warm welcome for new
members. |
