Welcome to the Junior Section of Walsall Golf Club. We have a thriving group of junior players, of all ages and abilities, boys and girls. For many years, we have had a reputation of encouraging and nurturing junior players. We have strong connections with Staffordshire County Golf Union and many of our juniors represent the County, in both the girls and boys sections, at Under-14, -16 and -18 level and some have even gone on to play with England Schoolboys.

We encourage juniors to join us from around aged 10. Our juniors meet regularly on Sunday afternoons and we run a number of competitions to help them familiarise themselves with the rules, etiquette and pleasure of playing golf on the course. We have juniors of all abilities, with handicaps ranging from 54 to +2. We have a tradition of older juniors supporting the new players, helping them embark upon their golf journeys.

We organise numerous competitions each year. In addition to our summer and winter leagues, we have Junior Presidents’ Day, Captain’s Day, Championships, 5 Club Challenge, Junior Open Championship, individual medal and pairs challenges. We are also entered in two leagues: The Staffordshire League and West Midlands League. We encourage our juniors to enter other open championships and have an away day each year to enable them to experience other courses. Each year we have our own Presentation Evening to celebrate the successes of the Junior Section and share in the achievements of individuals within it.

In addition, our Juniors have full access to the course, and access to enter club competitions, on the same basis as adult members.
All of our volunteers are DBS checked and hold safeguarding certificates. As a club we take safeguarding seriously and hold Safe Golf Accreditation.
